Measuring tool holder jump on CNC machine tool is a big problem. Is it really a problem of CNC tool holder?

Customers will find that in the process of using the tool handle, measuring the accuracy of the CNC tool handle on the CNC machine tool will find a large amount of jump, and suspect that there is a problem with the CNC tool handle. So is there a problem with the handle? Now let's do some analysis for you.

Firstly, the jump measured on CNC machine tools is not the single tool handle, but the comprehensive jump of the machine tool spindle, tool handle and cutting tool. This jump is not only related to machine tool, tool handle and blade, but also to clamping method and operation criterion.
If the runout of the tool handle is small on the machine, it will surely indicate whether the runout accuracy of the tool handle is good. Actually not necessarily! On the same spindle with larger jitter, a tool handle with good jitter accuracy is installed, and a tool handle with poor jitter accuracy is installed to measure jitter. The result may be just the opposite. Even if the same spindle and the same tool handle rotate 180 degrees twice before and after the tool handle is installed on the spindle to measure the runout, the results may be completely different. Through the above analysis, if we want to measure the runout accuracy of the tool handle on the machine tool, then we can prove that the runout accuracy of the machine tool spindle is trustworthy. It is possible to measure whether the runout accuracy of the machine tool spindle is within the required range by using rods in advance.

Secondly, to ensure that the machine tool spindle, TOOL HOLDER and blade and other surfaces are clean, while ensuring that the correct method of operation.
Often in the customer site to detect a large jump in the handle, the customer will first suspect that the problem is the handle. Following is a quick way to determine whether the problem is a tool handle or a machine tool spindle in this case.

One is to mark the position of the tool handle corresponding to the maximum runout value.
The second is to rotate the tool handle 180 degrees to the spindle of the machine tool.
The third is to start testing. If the maximum value of the runout is near the mark position of the tool handle, it indicates that there is a problem with the tool handle. If the maximum value of the runout appears near the mark relative position of the tool handle, it means that there is a problem with the spindle.
