There are so many types of tool handle, which one is good to use?

As we all know, the tool handle is a spindle connecting tools, so it is a very important part. For different types of cutter, the type of handle is also different. There are many kinds of tool holders. At present, the main standards are BT SK CAPTO BBT HSK and so on. BT, BBT are Japanese standards, and now is also a standard spindle commonly used.
SK is the standard spindle in Germany. Among them, BT and SK are simple and popular spindle connection standards, which are widely used in the die industry, high-speed engraving machine and other fields. The HSK type is a spindle standard which was born in the later period of high-speed requirement. It can be processed normally under the condition of 340,000 revolutions to provide work guarantee for high-precision workpieces. Traditional tool shank has ER type, strong type, side solid type, plane milling cutter type, DRILL CHUCK, Mohs taper shank, while modern hydraulic, thermal expansion, cold pressing type. Then let's introduce the application and characteristics of different kinds of tool holders.
HSK, HSK tool system is a new type of short taper TOOL HOLDER. Its interface adopts the way of simultaneous positioning of the taper and the end face. The Tool Holder is hollow, the length of the vertebral body is short, and the taper is one tenth, which is conducive to realizing the lightening and high speed of tool change. Because the hollow vertebral body and the end face are positioned, the radial deformation difference between the spindle hole and the handle of the cutter is compensated, and the error of the axial positioning is eliminated completely, which makes the high-speed and high-precision processing possible. And the handle of this kind of cutter is more and more widely used in high-speed machining centers.
KM type, which is similar to HSK type, also adopts hollow short cone structure, and its taper is one tenth. It also adopts the working mode of locating and clamping both cone and end faces. The main difference is that the clamping mechanism used is different. The clamping structure of KM has applied for the patent of the United States, and the clamping mechanism used is also used. The tightening force is greater and the stiffness of the system is higher. However, because there are two symmetrical arc grooves on the handle cone of KM cutter, it is relatively thin, some parts have poor strength, and it requires a very large clamping force to work properly.
CAPTO type, this type of structure is not a cone, but a triangular cone, its edge is circular arc, taper is one twentieth, and is also a hollow short cone structure, it uses the cone and the end face simultaneously contact positioning. This structure can realize the transmission of torque without sliding in both directions, and no need for driving body, thus eliminating the balance problem caused by driving body and keyway. The use of the handle is very extensive, and there are many models - Western Regions of course, in our understanding, wooden handle is the most common, and now some high-tech machinery and equipment in a variety of handle models also contribute to the economic development of society.
