What aspects should be referred to when selecting CNC toolholder

In order to improve the efficiency of machining, it is necessary to select more efficient tools and toolholders. For example, the handle of double-edged boring tool can be selected for rough boring, which can not only improve the processing efficiency, but also reduce the cutting vibration; the spring chuck can not only clamp the straight shank tool, but also clamp the tool with hole through the connecting rod. For the typical workpieces with large batch and complex processing, composite cutting tools should be selected as far as possible.

Because of the combination of cone and end over positioning, the effective contact area between the toolholder and the spindle is increased, and the double-sided positioning is carried out from the radial and axial directions, which greatly improves the combination stiffness of the toolholder and the spindle, and overcomes the weakness of the traditional standard toolholder in high-speed rotation. The application of NC toolholder is more and more widely. What factors should be considered in the selection of NC toolholder?

1. Machined surface roughness: machined surface roughness affects the structural shape and cutting parameters of the tool.

2. Machining accuracy: machining accuracy affects the type and structural shape of finishing tools.

3. Workpiece material: the workpiece material will determine the selection of tool material and cutting part geometric parameters. The tool material is related to the machining accuracy and material hardness of the workpiece.

4. NC machining program: different NC machining programs can use different types of tools.

5. Size and shape of workpiece: the size and shape of workpiece also affect the selection of tool type and specification.

6. Machine type: the influence of the NC machine used to complete the process on the selected tool type (drill, turning tool or milling tool). Under the condition of ensuring good rigidity of workpiece system and tool system, it is allowed to use high productivity tools, such as high speed turning tools and large feed rate.
