1. Taper tolerance of shank taper
In the standard of taper tolerance, the diameter, taper length and taper of the big and small end of the tool shank are all limited and guaranteed by strict tolerance grade. The taper accuracy of the tool is the necessary condition to ensure the close combination of the taper surface of the tool shank and the spindle wall of the machine tool. It can effectively prevent and absorb the vibration and resistance produced in the cutting process, and make the cutting force borne by each part of the tool uniform, so as to greatly improve the service life of the main axis and the tool of the machine tool, and improve the surface roughness of the workpiece.
2. Circular runout of the tool holder
Another important inspection parameter of the tool handle is the circular runout of the tool holder. It is usually measured at the end face of the tool holder.
Another way of expression is the circle beat at the position of 3XD (5xd). The latter is closer to the true circular runout at the cutting edge of the tool.
As we all know, in the process of machining, especially in high-speed cutting, if the circular runout of the tool is too large, it will cause a series of very bad consequences. For example, the tool wear is too fast, the workpiece surface is rough, and may cause serious consequences such as vibration and spindle damage.
