The maximum depth allowed by each cutting, the actual cutting depth = (machining depth + cutting starting point height)/cutting times.

For example, general 2A12 with 10mm rough milling cutter cutting depth of 10mm, processing depth of 27mm, then the actual number of cutting is 3 times, each cutting depth is 9mm; If the machining depth is 30mm, then the actual cutting times is 3 times, each cutting depth is 10mm; If the machining depth is 35mm, then the actual number of cuts is 5, and each cut depth is 7mm.

1, along milling, milling cutter rotation direction and cutting of the feed direction is the same, at the beginning of the cutting cutter bite the workpiece and cut the final chip.

2, reverse milling, milling cutter rotation direction and cutting feed direction is opposite, milling cutter must slip on the workpiece before the beginning of the cutting thickness is zero, to the end of the cutting thickness to reach the maximum.

This is analogous to cutting forces in different directions in a three-side milling cutter, some end milling or face milling. Face milling, milling cutter just outside the workpiece, the direction of cutting force should pay special attention to. In forward milling, the cutting force will press the workpiece to the table, while in reverse milling, the cutting force will make the workpiece leave the table. That's what we need to pay attention to.
