Difference between BT CNC toolholder and ordinary toolholder

BT CNC toolholder is a tool used for cutting in mechanical manufacturing, also known as cutting tool. Cutting tools in a broad sense include both cutting tools and abrasives; At the same time, "CNC tool" includes not only the blade for cutting, but also the accessories such as tool bar and tool handle!

When applied to high-performance and high-precision CNC machine tools, in order to achieve stability and good machining efficiency, generally higher requirements are put forward for CNC tools in terms of design, manufacturing and use than ordinary tools. The main differences between CNC tools and ordinary tools are in the following aspects:


1. Wide application of cutting tool materials
In order to prolong the service life of the tool and improve the strength of the tool, the tool body materials of many CNC tools adopt high-strength alloy steel and undergo heat treatment (such as nitriding and other surface treatment), so that they can be suitable for large cutting quantities, and the tool life can be significantly improved (ordinary tools generally use medium carbon steel after quenching and tempering treatment). In terms of cutting edge materials, CNC cutting tools use more cemented carbide (fine or ultra-fine particles) and superhard cutting tool materials of various new brands.



2. High precision manufacturing quality
In order to stably process the surface of high-precision parts, the manufacturing of tools (including tool parts) has put forward stricter requirements than ordinary tools in terms of accuracy, surface roughness and shape and position tolerance, especially indexable tools. In order to ensure the repeated accuracy of the size of the blade tip (cutting edge) after rotation, the size, accuracy and surface roughness of key parts such as tool body, groove and positioning parts must be strictly guaranteed, At the same time, in order to facilitate the tool setting and dimension measurement of the tool in the tool setting instrument, the machining accuracy of the base surface should also be guaranteed.



3. Reasonable selection of chip breaking groove
The cutter used in CNC machine tool has strict requirements for chip breaking groove. When the CNC turning and milling tools are in different working conditions, the cutting chips can not be selected reasonably, regardless of the cutting process of the CNC turning and milling tools.



4. Optimization of tool structure
The advanced tool structure can greatly improve the cutting efficiency. For example, the structure of high-speed steel CNC milling tools has mostly adopted the structure of wave edge and large spiral angle, while the carbide indexable tools adopt the structure of internal cooling, blade vertical installation, module replaceable and adjustable, while the internal cooling structure is not applicable to ordinary machine tools.
